Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how James H. Wortham d/b/a PitchShuffle ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use PitchShuffle ("the Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the Service:

  • Account information — username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
  • Google account information — if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID and email address.
  • Apple account information — if you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier and the email address (or private relay email) you choose to share.
  • Profile image — if you upload an avatar, it is stored via Cloudinary.
  • Team and pitcher data — team names, pitcher names, numbers, pitch types, and strike zone configurations you create within the app.
  • Payment information — billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe may retain payment data per their own privacy policy.
  • Preferences — app settings such as theme, voice, and terminology preferences.
2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve the Service — including managing your account, processing payments, and providing app functionality. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond running PitchShuffle.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted passwords and secure HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

PitchShuffle uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Cloudinary — image storage
  • Google OAuth — optional sign-in
  • Apple Sign In — optional sign-in
  • MongoDB Atlas — database hosting
  • Railway — application hosting
5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Profile page. Upon deletion, your account, teams, pitchers, and uploaded images are removed.

6. Children's Privacy

PitchShuffle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
